ARTÉS


Artes is not a very big village but it has enough nice places to visit to be important in your tourist way.



CHURCH SQUARE

The church square is not far from the city hall and it is situated near school building called Vedruna Artés.
It’s a small square with some houses and shops.
The church was rebuilt three or four years ago.

It’s called “Saint Mary Church”.




MAYOR SQUARE

The mayor square is the ancient city center of the village.
In this square there are some old houses and an old bell building.
Which was the bell of the ancient church when the village was envolved by a wall.

It was the most important square in the village.




SPORT AREA

At the sport area there are some courts and places to do sport and leisure activities:
·         there is a swimming-pool with a bar
·         a pavillion with a basketball court
·         a football area with two football fields
·         two tennis courts

·         a volleyball court and a "rocòdrom" not far from here.




“CAN CRUSELLAS” PARK

It’s a park with and old people area. It’s situated in the center of the village.
The old people area is situated in a building were you can drink something in the bar and do different leisure activities.
In the park you can dance “sardanes” and some other music too.


There is a childhood area too.




“CAL SITGES” AREA


Cal Sitges is an old factory adapted by the city hall to be a cultural area.
This building there are some different small areas:
·         the library
·         the music school
·         an exposition room
·         a big room where people can play theatre, have dinners or do a meeting.

Hello ,we are the group 3 and we talk about monuments.

Sallent Castle is a ruined fort on a small hill in the town of Sallent (Bages). Near the ruins of the castle there is a small church called: Sant Sebastià

THE FESTIVALS OF SALLENT

We are group 1 and we talk about some Festivals of Sallent.
In Sallent there are many festivals and celebrations like in other towns., some of these Festivals are:
Sant Joan, The young week -We celebrate it nn Sallent- , Christmas, Easter, etc. Now here are some of them:


La Festa Major:
This festival  starts in September and lasts a week.
There are contents, people can dance, and many other difererent acts. It's a very popular festival, and all the village participate in the acts.





Sant Joan:
We celebrate Sant Joan (like in all the towns in Catalunya), but there aren’t  fires in the street, because they aren’t allowed





Setmana Santa: (The Easter)
Setmana Santa (Holly Week). We don’t go to school in these days. We celebrate specially the Easter day!! (on Monday).


Santa Joaquima
This is a special Festival in our village and in our school.
Santa Joaquima founded the Vedruna Schools in Catalunya, and the
Vedruna schools celebrate Santa Joaquima’s day  in the 22nd of May.In our school we have fun: in  the morning we go to mass, and then we have a solidarity breakfast. Then we watch a play.
In the afternoon we play different games!
We like Santa Joaquima!!..

ENRAMADES

In Sallent we celebrate the Enramades. It’s a very important festival. We celebrate it every year in the day of Corpus.
This festival lasts four days and there are many events.
The inhabitans decorate their streets with flowers, papers and very amazing things, during all the night, because in the morning people are very surprised.
In the fotos you can see some examples.
The celebration of Enramades Sallent received the National Award for the best art popular 1992.Each street has a background theme on which deals with all the decoration of the street, that begins to prepare months before.

3r missatge Sallent Carnival

CARNAVAL SALLENT


In our group, we are four children: Carla, Núria, Blanca,  Jan, and Joel.



We talk about the Carnival in Sallent, because it’s a very important festival, and all the village celebrates it!!
This year Sallent started the Carnival with very noisy Batucada!
It was from the February 23rd to March 1. We began to dance and dress us …
In Sallent we say a very famous sentence when it’s  Carnival: “Per Carnaval tot s’hi val”, But this 2017 has been changed to “Per Carnaval no tot s’hi val”.
In this year we celebrated 40  Carnivals in Sallent!!!. It was a special day.


Sallent also make the children carnival which is organized by an association called Carrilet Infantil concerts and making things for children to have a good time and fun.

In Sallent there are many Associations, and now we want to introduce you some (We like them!)
  1. The giants.

OUR CLASSROOM
Our class is situated on the second floor, in front of 6th primary. There are 7 boys and 8 girls. We have a PDI, a book shelf, a blackboard, five cupboards and a lot of posters hanging of projects: maths, science in English, and French.

OUR PLAYGROUND

In our playground we have…  A big ring to play football. A big stone tortoise to play in.  A sandpit to play with the sand. Some swings and a small slide. There are some toilets too.

Our school was founded 150 years ago.


It was founded by nuns who started to teach some girls .


Nowadays there are boys and to girls  studying from 3 to 16 years old.
